Terms of Reference

1. The Fellows Committee maintains the standards of excellence encompassed in the naming of Fellows of the Society.

2. The Fellows Committee ensures that our Fellows represent the full breadth of excellence, expertise and functions encompassed within the membership of CMOS. 

Mode of Operation: The Committee will normally work and meet by e-mail and will hold at least one teleconference per year. It may also appoint ad hoc working or study groups as required.

Membership and Terms of Office: There shall be 3 or more members of the committee, each appointed for a two-year term with the option to be renewed for a second term. A majority of members shall be Fellows of the Society. The Past-President will serve as ex-officio member to provide liaison with the Executive.

Committee Level: This is a Council-appointed Committee.

Report: The Committee will present Council with their recommendations for new Fellows at the appropriate Council meeting during March-May. The Committee will produce an annual report in accordance with Appendix III to the By-Laws.

Core Activities

1. To solicit nominations for Fellows and Honorary Fellows from the members of the Society.

2. To evaluate the merits of the various nominees and to prepare the documentation (and citation) for those candidates that are being recommended to Council.

3. To contact the candidates about to be recommended to ensure that the honour will be accepted.
