Martin Rovers, Director Utility Growth Strategy, Emera
Jointly sponsored by the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science and Clean Technologies Research Institute (CTRI)

The energy industry is transforming as clean energy solutions replace traditional fossil fuels. The pace of chage has recently accelerated, driven by a combination of technology cost declines, government policies and customer preferences.

Emera is an international energy company and a leader in transforming our sector from high-carbon to low-carbon energy sources. Emera has assets and operations in a wide range of geographies, including Nova Scotia, Florida and the Caribbean.

In this talk, Martin will discuss Emera's stategic approach to the changing industry and how it is responding in each of its markets.

Renewable builds, battery storage, electrification of heating and transportation, grid intelligence platforms, and new customer solutions will all be discussed as examples of this response.
