Fellows and Honorary Fellows - Origin

The Society's 1997 Annual General Meeting in Saskatoon approved the establishment of two new categories of membership in CMOS, namely "Fellows" and "Honorary Fellows". The appointment of a member as a "Fellow" offers us the opportunity of recognizing our own members for their contribution to the Society and for their achievements in their own chosen fields of endeavour. The title "Honorary Fellow" is one that the Society may use to recognize an individual outside the Society, who, by virtue of his/her endeavours, is recognized as an outstanding individual and contributor to society as a whole.
